It ain't like having 12.7 million people watching a show should = no impact.
Look at Victoria's Secret; it had 6.6 million and Selena saw plenty of impact. Me and My Girls up to the 30s, Hands to Myself up to 10.
Her performances just got a much better reception and effect.
Sia's Alive also got to t10 when it was in the 80s before, and that was for a Voice episode with fewer viewers as well.
