"Used to Be" was originally released as a single in 2008, however the version on Teen Dream sounds very different and has been slightly rewritten. The upbeat, almost danceable instrumental of the song is overshadowed by the wistful lyrics, as Vicoria tries to convince herself that her lover is "coming home any day now" with the emotion in her voice telling us that he isn't. Also, check out this cute performance of the song, high at the beach. The vocals, poor our faves! Best bit: The outros in both versions are flawless. Best lyrics: "Are you not the same as you used to be?"
