Are you also an Abbott supporter?

I don't like him at all. As people in this thread have pointed out Malcolm Turnbull would have been a way better leader.
That being said, I support some policies of the liberal government and some policies of the labour government, so I consider myself to be quite moderate. I think it's stupid to blindly follow one party rather than making up your own mind on each individual issue. But the problem with the national conversation and political discourse in this country is that everyone is so under-informed that they can't even formulate their own opinions. You turn on the news during the election season and it's like, "And Tony Abbott has kissed a baby outside a primary school" or "Labour's leadership crisis - Julia Gillard vs. Kevin Rudd." There's never any debate about actual issues or what each party's budget will be if they win. And that's what it's all about. It's all about winning.
This budget isn't anything new. People are crying "we didn't sign up for this!" in the wake of the federal budget being announced, but this literally happens every 3 years. It doesn't matter which side gets elected. They take back promises, or make cuts, or introduce a new tax (John Howard with GST, Julia Gillard with the carbon tax) and every one cries "LIAR!" but it's just politics, and it's the same thing every time.
People support political parties like they're sporting teams, and just want them to conquer the opposing team, without actually knowing what they stand for.
Like I said, I try to make up my mind on individual issues, rather than supporting one party blindly, but even I feel incredibly under-informed. I watch Q&A every week because I want to actually know what tf is going on in this country, and even then sometimes I'm just like wot
