She crossed over to more formats than ever before with that song, yes. But her pop airplay wasn't as good as it used to be.
Here's something else: Applause isn't even being promoted to anything other than pop and rhythmic next week. Not up for adds on AC/HAC or anything.
It is however being played on HAC regardless of it not having any adds. They may send it to adds later (although possibly too late) you know how they can be.
lol TEOG was huge, Billboard have already said that radio is responding positively
She dosen't have crossover appeal like Bruno, Rihanna or Katy plus she isn't as big as you say Britney got more airplay with less singles. She can only save the song with a good video (i.e We Can't Stop or WFL) or a good perfomance (POM) but she will most likely perfom like Miley, huge streaming ( thanks to video) good sell but mediocre spins. Is to soon to call it a flop but a HUGE underperfomance for the so called "biggest pop star".

Well Britney proved that it was possible for her to come back with her biggest radio hit of her career. So I'm sure Gaga wont be that bad off. She just needs to have the right mix for the formats. Let's be real, the "Biggest pop star" title isn't bothering anyone but those who let it get to them.

You all need to stop this "Still not released to radio" non-sense.
It's a high profile release, Radio is aware of the song (and "some" choosing not to play it so far). You know it's underperforming when everyone comes up with these excuses

The song isn't up for adds at all on HAC sis. I'm not making excuses. Just like when she sent it for adds on country (You& I) when that format doesn't use Gaga at all. Adds are there for a reason but of course her being high profile means stations will use the song anyway where the formats use her. I'm not dumb, I'm reiterating what we've talked about earlier in private. Gaga hasn't done exceptionally well on HAC since TEOG.
I'm rooting for Katy too, so don't think that just because I'm a monster and she's "flopping" or something is going to make my stan glasses any denser than they already can be. Her tweet was mostly a Thank you for the stations playing it early.
At no point in its chart run did We Found Love ever struggle on radio.
And Applause is doing just fine, LooH, Diamonds, Die Young all had similar 4 to 5M updates, and they had support from more formats.
Katy's is just a special case.
CHR will fail big time if they don't make "Royals" top 10.
They failed "We Can't Stop".
They're failing with GGG too, great calloutscores, #1 on AAA, almost #1 on AC, #3 on HAC and #22 on POP because they don't give it enough spins otherwhise it'd have been in the top 10 days ago huh
Gaga can only make an impact on Rhythmic, HAC and AC if she actually takes the time to release something that appeals to those formats. She and her label are selling her short by making these songs that have no appeal outside of pop radio. The pop girls have consistent radio success because they make music that crosses over. Pop is a very fickle format, so Gaga just relying on it will hurt her in the long run. Radio seems to still be very influential (don't know why). I kinda think she should do the dual single thing.
