This song is incredible. One of the best songs she's ever recorded, which is saying something considering how amazing her other songs since GGGB have been.

I think the itunes release date is perfect. Honestly, I feel a lot of people still don't know Rihanna has a new single out from a new album considering her other one with Eminem just left #1 and she's been releasing stuff all year.
Pop radio is jumping on this, the audience willing to buy the song in 2 weeks is only gonna be bigger.
