Hilary Duff: Arguing with Hollywood Records / New Song for Disney
Hilary Duff
About DIGNITY
Given the title and Hilary Duff's sophisticated, uptown-girl look on the cover, 2007's DIGNITY seems to announce that the teen starlet is all grown up. Yet the album is still full of effervescent dance-pop, as fresh-faced and catchy as fans of Top 40 and commercial bubblegum would expect. The production techniques, complete with electronic flourishes and nods to club music, are well crafted, to be sure, but DIGNITY isn't about cutting-edge sounds or thumping club bangers. Instead, the electro-beats reinforce the pop song structures and make the singalong tunes shine.
The most sophisticated thing about DIGNITY may be its lyrics. Gossip-mill regulars will be able to parse references to Duff's much-publicized entanglements with other commercial pop stars, but what stands out is Duff's mature response to her life's tumult. The album plays like a confession, but does so with a cool head and a clear eye, underscoring the album's title without detracting from the music's inherently fun, bouncy style.
Biography
Hilary Erhard Duff (born September 28, 1987) is an American actress, pop singer/songwriter and entrepreneur. After gaining fame for playing the title role in the television show Lizzie McGuire, Duff went on to have a film career; her most commercially successful movies include Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003), and A Cinderella Story (2004). She earned $15 million in 2005 and $12 million in 2006 and 2007.
Duff has expanded her repertoire into pop music, with three RIAA certified-platinum albums and over thirteen million albums sold worldwide. Her first studio album, Metamorphosis (2003) was certified triple platinum and she followed it up with two more platinum albums, Hilary Duff (2004) and Most Wanted (2005). Duff's latest studio album, Dignity, was released in April 2007 and was certified Gold in August 2007. So far, the album has shipped 907,300 copies worldwide.
She has also launched a clothing line, Stuff by Hilary Duff, and an exclusive perfume with Elizabeth Arden. Duff and her mother were listed as producers for the movie Material Girls, and she will soon produce her sister's debut album.
Her upcoming films include the 2007 action thriller War, Inc., animated comedy Foodfight! and independent films Greta and Safety Glass.

New Album in November
US Weekly: Aside from her Lizze McGuire success, Duff has appeared in light-fare films such as Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper by the Dozen, and A Cinderella Story. Duff is also known for her endorsement of Candies and Ice Breakers and she has her own fashion line, which helped push her net worth to a reported $25 million. Duff has worked with her sister, Haylie, on projects including the recent box office flop Material Girls. The failure of Material Girls had many questioning the staying power of the Duff sisters (their next film, Foodfight, is set for release next year). Duff?s 2003 album, "Metamophosis," sold nearly 4 million copies and includes the theme song to MTV?s Laguna Beach, "Come Clean." Her fifth studio album will be released in November.
I don't know if it's true, but it sounds about right. She's writing and recording now and November is a great time to release an album. It has also been stated by some other sources. Maybe the people on here who have sources can find out for sure?

New song called "Twisted"
1. New Song Title: "Twisted." The song is very electro-pop, reminiscent of Kylie's "In Your Eyes."
2. While having some time off in Brazil, Hilary started writing a new song.
3. Hilary said that the reaction in Brazil made her all the more appreciative of her fans.
Questions I asked:
4. What is an instrument Hilary is interested in learning? Hilary is interested in playing the piano.
5. Were there any other planned singles besides "Gypsy Woman" & "Dignity"? "Danger" was previously a planned single for Europe, but the label canceled it in July. Her label decided they didn't want to put any more money into album promotion & canceled the planned "Gypsy Woman" video as well. Both were supposed to shoot before the "Dignity" tour started in July.

Hilary doesnt NEED Disney. WTF is wrong with Hollywood Records!? If they had promoted Stranger, and sent it for adds then everything woulda been just fine. You notice that the week after her "So You Think You Can Dance" performance, sales went up like over 1,000 copies almost! If they had promoted it more and sent it for radio adds, who knows how much better sales would have gotten!

Hilary's gonna be starting the new album.. Hopefully by August or September we'll hear the new single..
Dignity sold 4,000 copies this week. The album is falling hard.. I don't think it'll make it to 1 million..
HR sucks at controlling Hilary, and not releasing the DVD!
Yeah, I want her to choose producers whose not well known, because these prods may give new style of music for her..

Yeah, Stranger should have done good if it has been promoted well.

Hollywood Records should just let Hilary go if the arguing continues, it's pretty bleak now I think.
I still love Hilary though

I want a freaken' DVD already. Why aren't they releasing it?
I hope this drama between Hilary and Hollywood Records doesn't continue when the album is being promoted. I don't want this to end up like Kelly Clarkson's "My December".

I would love to know how much it's sold in the USA as of now. It's gonna sell 1,000,000 worldwide of course, and when her new album comes out, it'll transfer into Dignity sales as well.

On her feud:
I definately see both sides. She NEEDS Disney to sell records, but with this last album, the break has definately been made. There's no turning back and she is much too old/mature to do so. I actually agree with Hilary on this one (it's not like they can get her to appeal to children again, her fans have grown up as well).

^wow. i've been hearing "Where Did I Go Right" here in the Philippines, which confuses me why they play this, because Metamorphosis is 5 years ago.
