It's simply too "in" to dislike her. She can never do anything right. She's an easy target and people LOVE to point out her flaws, criticise her fans etc. etc. etc. Whilst she's playing the victim and focusing too much on feedback, she certainly has a point that people are thirsty for her failure. They want to smugly say "I told you so".

Repairing the "damage" won't be an instantaneous thing because people have invested feelings, opinions and expectations in her. It's not like Rihanna where a smash single forgives shortcomings, assuming they even knew or cared that they happened.

For Gaga it'll be gradual and I wouldn't be surprised if it required a blank slate via releasing a stripped back and/or non-dancepop album with no theatrics, minimal interviews to give eccentric soundbites and distance herself from stanworld shenanigans. I think she'll need a noticeable change. More pop may get lost if radios, critics etc. just dismiss it regardless of quality because it's "same old Gaga".

I've always hoped she would do a stripped back/Stefani album some day. Though I think the closest we're thing we're going to get for awhile is the Tony album (which I hope comes out sooner rather than later, maybe a bit after ARTPOP... I'm dying to hear it!)

ARTPOP is so f*cking ethereal, and heavenly. It's just four minutes of perfection. I guess I really love it because it really reminds me of a William Orbit production that could have been on Ray Of Light. It's amazing.

I feel like this isn't going to do the studio versions of these songs justice. Gaga's one of the strongest performers in pop at the moment but for some reason this... wasn't that good. Most of the songs held potential, but her delivery wasn't convincing. I'm optimistic that most of these will be great, considering how amazing Aura is.

I think it's inevitable. Just a case of waiting for the right time to do it. It's an ace card she's yet to play, really.

The Tony album will hopefully do somewhat of the work, though. Gaga can always do with reminding everyone how talented she is. Like, actual talent, not "she can hold a tune/could dance well years ago/co-wrote a song once" talent.

Thankfully, this was only the first time the songs were being performed for fans. She'll get some of the messy delivery/singing together by the time she goes on tour.
