Well that's not the fault of the filmmakers, and it doesn't mean that the film is a bad film just because it's not what you expected... the studio markets the movie, not the filmmakers. And I know as well as anyone that the studios are smart enough to know that a horror film is going to draw a wider audience than a satirical horror-commentary about the current state of the genre.

Like if someone told you that Bambi was the scariest movie they have ever seen and hyped you all up that Bambi was actually a horror movie, and then you go and watch it and find out that it's not...that doesn't mean it's a bad movie in itself, it just means that you went into viewing it with the wrong expectations

I love the first three.
Don't know why the third gets so much hate.

I bought Annabelle on Blu-ray.
Seemed to enjoy it more than when I saw it in theaters.
Maybe I was trying to justify the purchase.

Also bought Dead Snow 2.
It was cool. Nowhere near as good as the first.

Don't sleep on the Exorcist because it's old. If you want something about demons that will scare you, it's worth the watch.

It has no relation at all to the first movie. It's super low budget. It's super super corny. They tried and failed at infusing comedy into it. It is trash

It didn't really make sense and was just ugh--the 3rd. I mean how it all happened at the wedding and trying to see how that fit in with the whole concept (not trying to spoil anything). It really seemed disconnected. With the latest, they seem to have got back to referencing the first a little better and it wasn't bad.

Just watched The Babadook and ugh the acclaim is definitely deserved.
Expertly paced,great acting on all parts, the suspense was always there and I really shuddered when the book turned back up and the phone call
And of course a great message and symbolism
One of the best horror movies of the decade so far

Just watched Jessabelle. It was better than I expected. In some ways, it kind of reminded me of Skeleton Key.

It was pretty good. A nice little slasher film, and the way it's set up isn't like a typical remake, so that was interesting.


My only complaint is the ending was a bit abrupt, but I recommend it.
