Guys I'm saying that you don't have except much from Gaga... That's the reason why many peoples are dissapointed. Huge hype followed by huge dissapoint. She just can't slay us with all the hype..

I feel it's where things are going, or rather a very savvy move for now. The industry can cry and stamp their feet all they want about illegal downloading but the fact is that it's happening on mass global scale and nothing they can do will change that. The music business has its head shoved firmly up the ass of the 'good old days' with seemingly no balls to try and confront the future of music distribution and consumption. If iTunes hadn't saved their collective ass, **** knows where they'd be now.

It's going to take someone like Gaga, who has the balls, the profile, the foresight, the label backing and the luxury of being able to pull it off. Once she takes the risk and pulls it off, it probably would revolutionise the industry. She can easily secure mega-brand sponsorship, and a site that offers someone her levels album for free is going to be prime advertising real estate which they can charge anything for. Hell, she could always pay for this herself and take all profit.

Tapping into the black hole of illegal downloading is the key. You're obviously not going to get them to pay for the music, but coaxing them onto a site where you can get paid from advertising revenue is a good consolation prize. Something is better than nothing. Plus, whilst they're there you can always get them to sign up to Gaga's news letter (which will later be used to inform them of singles/physical album sale/tour) and perhaps - if they want to play dirty - get them to 'like' her on Facebook too.

The casual market is also worth tapping into. The sheer volume of people who will download 'for the hell of it' will greatly boost numbers. It takes no commitment, and even if they hate and delete their download...it's still being counted (having a counter underneath the download button would be a clever way to let everyone - particularly press - know of the popularity which adds more hype).

The only downside I can see is that it would provide an easy dig; "Gaga's giving her album away for free". However, that kind of negativity will be offset by (hopefully) the success of the singles, the quality of the material and the popularity of the album. If it's good and works out, she'll be praised for her revolutionary idea. If it's bad and it doesn't, she'll be dismissed for the cheap gimmick.

She would never be more respected as an artist than if she did that. People would see she is all about the music and doesn't care about money at all.
