Lady Gaga Releases Massive Pop Anthem
'The Edge of Glory' features saxophone by Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band
Lady Gaga announced on her Twitter feed Sunday night that her song "The Edge of Glory" will be released in the iTunes shop at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT later today. Gaga's representatives are quick to note that the song, which will appear on her new album Born This Way, is not an official single but rather the first track of a promotion with iTunes leading up to the record's arrival on May 23rd.
"The Edge of Glory" was one of the handful of new Gaga songs that Rolling Stone previewed back in February. The song, which merges a power ballad chorus, a disco beat and arena rock guitars, features a lead saxophone part performed by Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band.
Man, now all I can think of is her singing this at the Superbowl. Can you imagine? She wouldn't even need intense choreography, just a mic stand and a leather jacket slaying the **** out of this song in front of 100m+ viewers. This must happen.
