He had so much hype prior to the release. The features on various hit singles, the mixtapes, he basically built up this bomb for himself and set it off with "Lollipop". It didn't sell his album, that's for sure, it helped but he could have done without it.

I'm not saying that without Lollipop he would have totally flopped. I'm just saying that this song helped him A LOT. And I doubt that he would have sold over 1 million copies in the first week without releasing it.

His last album was 2005 ... he blew up in 2007. He just didnt have his own album to release yet

Tpain used the same "be on everybodys song" strategy that Weezy used Okay maybe it wont be AS BIG but i think it will probs debut with like 400k
