Mess. Just the other day, I was on atrl and there was a shirtless gay from grindr promoting MakeMe on the my computer and my mom's like "when are you going to marry him and bring him home?" & got so mad.
I have no idea how to appease her. She wouldn't want me dating a girl/seeing naked women & she wouldn't want me dating a guy/seeing naked men.
Mess She just wants you to be single and unhappy If you she saw a pic of your hand she'd probably get mad because she thinks it's the one you're masturbating with
8. Angel in Disguise
From Never Say Never
Average: 8.80
The hint I gave was that it's a lead single. This is somewhat true because it was technically the first single from Never Say Never to chart. Although TBIM was the official lead, her label released Angel In Disguise as a PROMO single to see how that sound would do. Everyone was used to hearing Brandy do the R&B/Pop sound, but they were curious to see if they were doing something right by releasing it. Fortunately, they were. Angel In Disguise, despite having absolutely 0 Promotion, managed to become a top 10 R&B Airplay hit and the fans were eager for more. In some sorts, you can say AID helped TBIM become the chart monster it was.
I absolutely LOVE this song. I love the talking intro talking about the "angel". And then I love the male vocals saying "& I love you babe" (Fun fact, it's R&B singer Joe!). The song is so futuristic and timeless. The bridge and the ending was just so fantastic. The song is perfectly structured and produced EXCELLENTLY. I'm not, however, upset about the placing. I'm glad it made top 8, but besides 1 song, I like the other ones a lot more.
Yet another Fun fact about this song, the Joe vocals (& I love you babe) ended up being used in Brandy's Full Moon album track "It's Not Worth It."
Another interesting thing about this song, Performing it now Brandy actually thinks it should've been called "Devil in Disguise." due to the lyrical content. The song speaks on a woman who seems like an Angel, but in reality, she isn't what she seems & she leaves the man Brandy lovesin the rain. However, it's more more-like a DEVIL, who is in disguise posing as a woman who seems to be perfect.
supa says "Full of so many delectable little production details. The water drops when she sings about her tears have always stuck out to me." Another interesting thing to note. The song is truly just filled with a lot of mystery and interpretation
Bey_Rihstan may claim to be Brandy's biggest stan, but she thinks " Brandy's best single tbh dunno why this flopped. stupid label." Let's see if she reads the write-up

7. Almost Doesn't Count
From Never Say Never
Average: 8.90
The 3rd single off NSN. This was a folk/country ballad done by R&B singer Brandy showing she's very versatile even at a young age. I love the meaning of the song and I love the way she sings on it. The song is so somber and so meaningful. Lyrically, it's definitely the best song in the rate. Definitely something we've all been through and we all feel often. However, I'm fine with it's placing! It's my least favorite song left (still perfect).
supa gave this an 11 and said "The weary rasp, the melancholy Spanish guitar riffs, the slow crescendo of frustration—it all combines for an utterly exquisite portrait of heartbreak. One of the great R&B treasures of the ‘90s, and the unsung classic of Brandy’s discography." I completely agree. qurl also gave it an 11 and attributes his body's ability to convert the CO2 to Oxygen to the song "this song is the reason i breathe."
A couple fun facts about this song. First: The song was actually covered by Country singer Mark Willis. The version is pretty bad but IMPACT!! It was a cute little country hit too in 2000.
Second fun fact, Since we all know Brandy is tacky as hell, she made sure to include it on an episode of Moesha. In the episode about when she finds out her best friend Niecy lost her virginity, they ask Moesha if she's had sex and she says "Almost..." And then her friend Niecy says "Almost Doesn't Count, Mo".
Third fun fact and probably my favorite. Keeping this bolded so you all read. THIS HAS THE GREATEST TRANSITION I'VE EVER HEARD IN ALL OF MY LIFE. If any of you own Never Say Never, If you listen to this song right after "Learn The Hard Way", you'll hear Jesus entering heaven. The way the instrumental EFFORTLESSLY switched to the iconic ADC
You can kinda hear it at 15:15-15:30, but this user has a slight gap. But
