The Wonder Girls went to promote here, and they ended up on the Billboard Hot 100; first Korean group to do so. However, their single wasn't a hit.
They were out of South Korea for so long, that their popularity faded.

They're still a top group, but they have definitely declined.

they were called the New Evolution of 21st Century because they are the first girl group to have a far different image from the rest. Which is having strong and independent women image opposed to the soft **** sexed up doll conventionsl image of all the other girl groups.

plus their songs are mostly about female empowerment and boy bashing anthems opposed to some other girl groups which sings all about "oppa please kiss me" or "my crush makes my eyes shine and twinkle so bright"

they really started the trend, after their debut many girl groups started to sprout with the same image. also, girl groups before them started singing songs with same themes as them.

I believe they were asking about their forthcoming album which is tentatively titled new evolution. if you were, the short answer is nobody has a ****ing clue what's going on with it lol

The album was ORIGINALLY supposed to be released in July. Then it got pushed back to October. Then pushed back again until November. Then they fully stopped giving us any information on it.

Rumor has it that the girls were recently spotted in Canada shooting SOMETHING (a few weeks earlier, they were in LA, supposedly, shooting something as well). Another rumor was that they would release a teaser of some sort on the 17th, so hopefully we'll get more information on New Evolution then (but I'm not holding my breath).

yeah that's what i was asking about. i'm pressed because their english single + album apparently depend on the second korean album to come out first. at this rate we won't get any of them

to be honest i'd rather have a full korean album first cos in their 7 month absence they've begun to slide in popularity, especially since groups like sistar, kara, f(x) are continuing to grow in popularity. they need to re-establish themselves as the hottest girl group in korea before they take more time out from korean activities to promote in the US imo

plus it leaves time for GG to try and fail to crack the US market first
