She looked that way all through the whole TF(M) era actually. Once she started listing off her insecurities like a list of Rih's STDs during BTW era, she lost her "cool" and commanding presence. No one wants to be friends with a loser, let alone worship one.
Instead of going the Demi route (seeking pity from the GeePee). She should have kept her mystery about her and her work. I'm mad that we lost a major paradigm shifting pop star.
