I really wanted TEOG as a PROPER single release - later, strong, with a great video. And don't even start on the E.T. and Teenage Dream thing ~ it's not the same.
I'm not saying she shouldn't take risks, I'm just not particularly happy with the promo singles idea AT ALL. It cheapens it a lot in my eyes - AND THEN she decides to release the album CLOSER as a promo single.
This, however, makes me happy every time I read it:

The inclusion of Clemons is an inspired touch that amplifies the song’s Eighties stadium rock vibe, but his actual performance is amazing and ranks among the best of his career.

I think he still worked on the album. I heard some one with a british accent that sounded like him helping to produce Electric Chapel in Gagavision 44 and neither Garibay, Red One, or Whiteshadow have those I dont think.
