Well, there's no real-time streaming charts for any of the services. Spotify is the most transparent out of all of them, as others don't even provide numbers. I agree with Simm- this thread would be much more active if there were real-time streaming charts.

Overview
Spotify activity posted its biggest increase since May in August, which marked a sharp reversal from early-summer chart trends in a multitude of ways. June and July saw the overall activity of top 10 and 50 slip while the top 200 continued to make gains, albeit at a slower pace than in springtime. However, last month's increases were fueled largely by increased action at the top of the charts. The Chainsmokers' Closer, featuring Halsey, ascended to #1 in 11 days and tightened its grip on the top spot throughout the month (last week, it would become the third song, after Hello and One Dance, to record 2.5M daily streams). Major Lazer's Cold Water, featuring Justin Bieber & MØ, was also met with a strong reception after being released a week before Closer, logging frequent 1M+ days. After only reaching 10M plays one time in July, the top 10 rebounded to do it 19 times in August, boosted largely by the two aforementioned tracks. While this total is still short of the 25 recorded in May, it is far higher than any other month's total (April had 2, and June had 8; it had never happened before 4/23). Similarly, the average total plays of the top 10 eclipsed 10M last month, finishing handily short of May's 10.6M mark but in front of June's 9.7M and well ahead of July's 8.8M. With regards to the top 50, the region of the chart that functions as a playlist for many listeners hit 30M plays 8 times after only doing so once in June and July combined (it happened 13 times in May). It is notable that there were days in February where the top 100 could not even reach 30M daily plays, a mark that one-fourth of all August top 50s hit.

The top 200's gains in August were larger than they were over the last two months, but they were smaller than the gains of the top 10 and top 50. But because the top 200 was actually gaining over the summer, its total of 1.7453B streams in August sets a new high-water monthly mark, just barely topping May's 1.7447B. Despite this, the average number of songs above 200,000 plays decreased for the first time month-over-month this year, from 103 to 100. This figure moved from 76 to 93 in April, but it has increased at a more leisurely rate since then. Another fascinating statistic; August marks the first time in 2016 that one of the top 5 most active days (as measured by total streams of the top 200) was a Wednesday. On 8/31, the chart managed 59.4M streams, making it the third most active day of the month and the runner-up for most active Wednesday in history (5/18, 59.5M). Last month also saw Spotify's strategy of purging former Apple Music exclusive songs from its playlists publicized. This has assisted us in seeing just how large the impact of popular playlists are. Florida Georgia Line's H.O.L.Y. is one of the first victims of this (apparently new) policy; it dipped 68-104 on last Thursday's weekly tally. Perhaps labels will counter by promoting former AM exclusives more heavily on their own playlists, although in most cases Spotify's curated playlists are significantly more popular than the playlists created by labels under disguises like Filtr and Topsify. Expect more drama this month, as the busiest quarter of the year is just beginning.
