I can't help but feel this performance of Wide Awake is being blown out of proportion. She was obviously nervous, and she was hanging up in the air by a rope.
The verses and Bridge were actually well on key, the bridge was actually pretty good. Yes, I will admit the chorus was really bad, it was really out of tune. But doesn't every single artist have bad performances?
The performance was actually really nice, lots going on. If she just practiced that chorus more it would be really great.
I'm here for Katy and Wide Awake, and will continue supporting it. Who cares if she gave one bad performance? We know she can sing, those just weren't her best vocals. We should move on and look forward to future performances and the video.
