The expectations are probably higher for whites because of their social status (among other things) compared to those minority groups. But that is definitely not "holding whites back" or a major issue for White Americans.

Definitely not. The year I took the SAT, the cutoffs in my state were National Achievement 179, National Hispanic 182, National Merit 216. The cutoffs for Achievement generally range 170-185, the cutoffs were Hispanic generally range 180-190, and the National Merit generally range 210-230.

I'm saying opening your argument by saying "I choose to not take exams blah blah" makes you sound like a whiner with a victim complex. The fact that you greatly exaggerate the gaps in scores for the scholarship awards just makes it worse.

I earned my National Merit Scholarship with a score just barely above the cutoff that I'm sure was lower than many scores of National Acheivement and Hispanic National Merit scholarship receivers, as well as people who didn't make the cutoff in states with higher standards all around. I don't want to hear someone who didn't even try bitch about the system. Don't complain about being held back if you're not even attempting to succeed.
