I live in the South so Speak Now was a thing here, at least among white girls I can imagine in California or in the North though, they probably just heard Mine on the radio during release week and that was it
I was/am in the South too, and idk, I don't remember white girls in school crazing over her.
But I do remember in Summer Camp when Love Story came on the radio during a trip and EVERYONE was singing along like it was the National Anthem. A classic
Before then, her only hits that felt big were You Belong + Love Story. I would have never thought she was selling so much 2006-2010 too.
It totally depends where you grew up tbh.
I grew up in very rural town that loved country. My friends all stanned for her in middle/high school. She was the most universally liked artist I knew of for a while.
2011, when Mac Miller & Wiz Khalifa were THE rappers
These 2 White girls in middle school were going to a Wiz concert that day and I asked them who that was and one of them flipped out on me "Do you not listen to music?"
