I think having a shorter album or even an EP would be good for Gaga. Maybe she's the kind of artist who makes better work when it's more focused and shorter - it certainly seems like that could be the case. Then again, every longer album has filler material, so perhaps the good thing about TFM was just that it was too short to have filler, where BTW could have easily been cut in half to 8 tracks or so (not that I dislike the other half!).

I totally agree, she's very consistent with shorter material. But I think that may be the case with most artist. The shorter an album is, the easier it is to pack it with single ready material and still tell a story. Even if every song on the album was single ready but the album was too long, some songs start to stand out way more than others, leaving the others as underrated or "filler". A good example is SHICD. Even though it's a GREAT song, a lot of the other material overshadows it.
