I really do think Kerli is one of those hidden treasures who nobody really knows, then a song of hers will be featured in a hugely popular television show and she'll completely blow up. But for now, I consider Walking On Air the #1 song underground.

Kerli is just like Santogold, they put out probably the 2 best albums of the year, but neither are anywhere mainstream enough for commercial success.

(Though Santogold is starting to gain commercial popularity after that commercial with Pharrell and being MTV's artist of the week.)

Controversial Rapper Will Sell Around 200k for First Week in Chart Entry

More often than not, controversy pays off.

Nas’ new Def Jam/IDJ album, Untitled, which the rapper wanted to call N*****, except the asterisks would've been replaced with i-g-g-e-r, will debut at #1 on next week’s HITS Album chart, according to one-day sales numbers culled from retailers whose doors are still open for business.

The disc should sell in the 200k range, which will be more than enough to leapfrog both this week’s #1, Lil Wayne, and #2 Coldplay.

The next highest debut will be John Mellencamp’s Hear Music bow, the T Bone Burnett-produced Life, Death, Love and Freedom, which is getting some of the best reviews of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee’s illustrious career. Initial estimates have the album selling in the 60k area.

SRC/Universal Motown Mississippi rapper David Banner’s The Greatest Story Ever Told looks on track to sell 50k, while Everfine/Atlantic jam band O.A.R. should do around 40k for their latest, All Sides.

Veteran country star Randy Travis’ Word/Warner/Curb album Around the Bend will do between 20-25k, the same estimate for WB’s The Dark Knight score soundtrack, composed by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, with the eagerly anticipated Christopher Nolan film opening this Friday.

Next week, Hollywood's new Miley Cyrus album hits the streets.

The market was down 3% vs last week, down 12% vs same week last year and now down 11% year-to-date.
