Anaconda: 9.5\10
This song is the type of song that will grow on you. The pre hook is EVERYTHING, one of her best (top 5) in my opinion. Whenever it comes on i can't help but rap along even though i can't catch up with her, her flow is so fast it's like a machine gun. The sample of the song is on point and she's really grown. The only tiny push that would give this a full 10/10 would be if she went a little harder on her verses and maybe had a breakdown somewhere so it doesn't sound too repetitive. Overall i commend Nicki for taking a risk and doing something out of the box, and it worked out great. The production is on point, her flow is sick and the song has just the right amount of humor and fun it needs.
***Flawless (Feat. Nicki Minaj) 10/10.
I really thought it would be hard to top flawless already, because it is flawless (no pun intended). But Nicki has delivered a verse so good, that it's probably her best ruling out even Monster. Beyonce's new verses are sick as well, it goes great with the song, can't even tell it's a remix. The song used to be 2 and a half minutes of brilliance at most, but now they basically extended the goodness and added even more pizaz. As a huge fan of Nicki i always wonder what more can she bring to a feature, she's been featured on like a hundred singles, yet everytime she brings something new, or something we love from the past and improves it. Bad bitch from Sri Lanka is back and she is not PLAYING. well done Nicki, hope this gets released to iTunes, it deserves the utmost success. When this comes on at the clubs, no one will be sitting down; guaranteed.

***Flawless (Remix):
It's literally amazing, had instant replay value from the first listen. The brand new verse from Bey (stopping it from being your typical one added verse remix), the Kanye-esque auto tune, her unique rap-singing flow, the career ending elevator line. The way she shuts everyone down letting them know and telling her other females to think the same about themselves "and you can say what you want, I'm the ****!" – then the incredible sample horns that she uses in the live version, introducing and summoning Onikuh. Nicki comes in spitting, but then Bey snatches the mic back and interrupts her. The controversial and genius MJ line. The metaphors. The change of flow. The operatic background vocals throughout and Bey's intro adlibs and notes just add even more perfection to the song. I genuine and unbiased 10/10

***F L A W L E S S
Flawless is a very smooth sultury pop jam. The infectious hook and the booming bass makes you just want to go to a club and turn up.
When Beyonce talks about men wanting her to be their "poundcake" I couldn't help but feel...FEMINISM.
Nicki's verse is also ether for the other female rap girls. She tells a story, while spitting massive barz punchline after punchline she exudes every word she utters with the utmost confidence.
These barz are probably her most lyrical and can only be compared to her Iconic "Monster" verse.
Overall Beyonce's perfection + Nicki's perfection = ***Flawlessness.

***Flawless (Remix) ft Nicki Minaj
Beyoncé continues to show the world why she is the Queen at what she does. After snatching the wigs of many last December with the release of her Self-Titled album, she returns for a second helping of hair follicles with the release of ***Flawless remix featuring rapper Nicki Minaj. The song starts off with chilling vocals that set the tone for a dark, disturbing, and abstract song that is guaranteed to capture its listener. In the realm of Kanye West's "Monster" Beyoncé exposes her alter ego Yoncé to finish the final blows to her haters explaining that "of course some **** goes down when its a billion dollars in an elevator".
After Beyoncé's assault, it doesnt end there. After summoning "Onika" from the depths of the earth to finish off their adversaries, Nicki Minaj delivers one of her best verses since the aforementioned "Monster". She delivers punch line after punch line that will surely become one of the most quotable verses of the year.
Beyoncé recreated a musical experience that took the world by storm, united fanbases, and will go down as one of the high points in her discography.
Score - 10/10

After Pills N Potions disappointed as a dull first single, Nicki needed to come back fighting with her second single. The in your face single cover succeeded in doing that. The song it represents, not so much. Nicki relies far too heavily on "Baby Got Back" and fails to separate itself from that song. The only memorable part is the chorus, and if I wanted to listen to that I'd just listen to "Baby Got Back". If she wanted to rely so heavily on the sample, she should have found a way to make the song distinguishable as her own. Flo Rida samples artists all the time in his singles and finds ways to make sure you know it is a Flo Rida song. Nicki needed to find a way to utilize it better.

Anaconda:
Let me start by saying this song is definitely a grower. It's not really what I usually want from Nicki, but at the end of the day I don't see why she shouldn't be allowed to release a Comedy Hip-Hop-influenced song. It has been done by other rappers before, notably Eminem, so it shouldn't be a big deal. The song is great to dance to, the pre-chorus is my favorite part. It's losing some points because of the outro that kinda ruins the mood in my opinion and certain lyrics could be better. Overall it's not bad, but not the best of her either.
7.5/10
***Flawless (Remix):
I'm trying to stay unbiased but this song is everything to me. This song is really my kind of music, amazing production and I love the concept. The thing I like the most about the song are the lyrics, some of the lines come really hard and give me chills, especially the elevator and MJ doctor lines. Nicki really did her thing on this song, the atmosphere in her verse is unbelievable, it's really dark and intimidating. The first part of her verse gives us the memorable lines and intimidating flow, while the second part gives us fast rapping that we can dance to. This song is flawless to me, there's nothing else I can say.

"Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj
"Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj has definitely been one of the most polarizing releases from Nicki since' Starships", or at least it with the leak of the low quality considering the high quality has mostly won people over. When the LQ version of the song leaked, I thought the song sounded ok. I could tell that the song easily was not her best nor was was it her worst. "Massive Attack", "Check It Out", and "Automatic" are among her worst and they remain very unbothered by this track.
With the release of the HQ and later the iTunes quality, I found a new love for the track and how it greatly contrasts her previous single "Pills N Potions". Both tracks demonstrate two sides of Nicki, but "Pills N Potions" is a rather serious track that you can mostly only play when you feel hurt but want to remain mature while "Anaconda" is something you can play when you are ready to let loose and party hard which is a feeling I feel more than the previous.
I love the way the producers (Polow da Don and Da Internz) incorporated the sample of Sir Mix-A-Lot's rap classic "Baby Got Back" for the chorus, but I have to say that the second part of the chorus ('Look at her butt") lacks something that the first part ("My anaconda don't") has. The second half of the chorus is the only part of the song that feels lacking for me.
I love Nicki's verses, adlibs, and that wild and carefree outro ("He loves this fat ass! HAHAHA!"). The production of the song feels like something new for Nicki and I can hear pop, trap, and slight EDM (? haha) influences. The track is clearly her "Look Back At Me"/"Fergalicious"/ "How Many Licks?", something I have long wanted from Nicki.
It'll definitely end up be one of Nicki's more memorable tracks if it continues to do well and deservingly so.

***Flawless Remix By Beyonce And Nicki Minaj
Bey and Nicki simply destroyed careers on this remix track. This is the type of song that you either love or hate so Im not too surprised by the mixed reactions and scattered review scores so far. The lyrics are so bold and controversial (MJ Doctor) this is the type of Beyonce I would like to see more of in the future. The autotune actually pulls the whole song together surprisingly wonderfully and Nicki's verse is probably the best I've heard from her this entire year. Overall Bey managed to outdo the original ***F thanks to Nicki's insane verses and wonderful new lyrics/production/attitude. #slayed

Anaconda By Nicki Minaj
Although Nicki seems to be back with a force on the charts, the actual content of this song is deplorable and tragic. Pills N Potions left a good imprint on what I was sure Nicki was going to pursue musically in the future but unfortunately I was wrong. Although I appreciate the Baby Got Back sample, I'd rather it have been left alone. The song is just so forced and noncohesive at all, it's just a very confusing piece to hear in one listen. The production is probably the only highlight of the track, which I commend for it's fusion of hip hop and pop influence. That's about it though. Overall this song is not completely terrible but it is one of those songs that I wouldn't want to hear again.

***Flawless (feat. Nicki Minaj) [Remix]
When the clock hit midnight on Saturday night, Beyoncé's website updated with a surprise collaboration with seasoned rapper Nicki Minaj. Before taking a listen, I didn't know whether to expect the original song with an added verse from Minaj or a proper remix; however, to my surprise, it was more than just a remix. Beyoncé took this as an opportunity to to fully redo the interlude length song into a full track that could stand by itself.
Upon the first listen, I was in complete shock and awe at what I had listened to. Beyoncé, being the private person that she is, used this song as a way to address the scandal that has plagued her family for months, the infamous elevator scandal. At the end of her verse, Yoncé states, "Of course sometimes **** go down when there's a billion dollars on the elevator!". Wow! Did she really just say that? She did! In one fell swoop she shut it down and ended it with the cutest sinister laugh ever.
This all leads into the verse that is being called Nicki's best verse since Monster or ever. Beyoncé sets Nicki loose with her call "Onikuhhh" and all hell breaks loose. Nicki begins to spit her verse that at first listen sounds tame and then she begins to build and build and creates the most monstrous verse she has ever created. Nicki takes this verse to show that she is the Queen of Hip Hop/Rap and NO ONE can even come close to dethroning her at this point. Nothing can be said about Nicki's verse other than it's just pure perfection.
All and all, this song is was history in the making. Two of the biggest females in their respective areas of the music business came together to show why they are considered queens. This remix was everything and more.
ALL HAIL THE QUEENS!

Anaconda
Upon first listen, my thoughts regarding this song were "what the hell did I just listen to?". This was not what I expected to hear upon that first listen. It seemed as though Nicki was taking a step backwards instead of keeping things on par with every other song she has released so far this year. Having had listened to Looking Ass and Chi-Raq, as well as her features and other songs, this song could not be compared to them. However, it could be compared to her previous work from 2012 which is not what we expected at all.
Although this is suppose to be just a fun song, I couldn't help but ponder whether or not this was a good choice for the second single. As I continued to listen, my feelings towards the song began to change just a bit as I could feel myself getting into it a little more. It's not what I expected or wanted as the second single but overall it achieves the goal that it was meant to achieve. It's a fun throwback song that gets people up and moving along to it. The infectious chorus alone will take this song far and possibly put it down in history as being just as Iconic as the Sir Mix-a-Lot sample that's placed throughout the entire song.
8/10

***Flawless (Remix):
I admit that I was skeptical of how this song would turn out due to the subpar snippets of Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" that leaked online early last week. Never again will I doubt the feminist force that is Beynika. Beyoncé channels her inner Kanye West as she aggressively raps over the Hit-boy produced beat and is later joined by Nicki Minaj who deems herself the "Queen Of Rap" (rightfully so) and calls out everyone who dares to make the mistake of not being on the winning team. The The replay value of this track is insane with hard-hitting lines like: "Of course sometimes **** goes down when it's a billion dollars on a elevator." which had the internet abuzz. To be frank, it's 3 minutes and 55 seconds of GIRL POWER which begs the question: how does it feel to know that two women put out the best rap track of the year so far?

***Flawless Remix-
Awful is really the only way to describe this. Okay maybe unnecessary can work too. The editing is cheap, the newly recorded vocals are not good. Alot of the new lyrics work against the whole feminist theme the original (once great track) was going for. Beyonce seems to be trying too hard, which is a shame because self titled mostly feels effortless. A complete backwards step, i hope this stays an online only buzz release. Nickis verse was okay but not good enough. If the song does get single treatment i hope its the original getting the attention. The good sis chimamanda didnt deserve to be snubbed for this. Maybe the two ladies will work better on an original track, which id be excited for.

 | After a few months since her album dropped, Queen B decides to surprise her fans by releasing a remix with none other than Nicki Minaj. Now, the song, isn't anything special in my opinion. Beyoncé's new verse was totally not needed, or she could've done it much better. The part with the elevator was pretty much a mess. However, Nicki's verse saves the song. It's definitely one of her best features ever and it's constantly delivering throughout the song. In my opinion, the remix could've been better by making the production a bit better and Beyoncé's first verse a bit more clear. |
