From Philippines Hot 100

Jordin Sparks replaces Mariah Carey on the Hot 100.

“One Step at a Time” steps two places to number-one.

Jordin Sparks’ third single from her self-titled debut album keeps getting hotter. The American Idol 6 Champion’s single “One Step at a Time” sits atop the Philippines Hot 100, replacing last week’s leader “Bye Bye” by Mariah Carey. Carey’s second single from E=MC2 fails to match her previous number-one hit, “Touch My Body”, which held the top spot for five consecutive weeks. “Bye Bye” slips from 1-2. Also, Sparks’ new single is the sixth consecutive number-one single from a female artist.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s “Take a Bow”, which is currently at #3., sets a new record for the longest stay inside the top three. In total, the former number-one hit spent 8 weeks inside the top three, surpassing “With You”, “No Air” and “Bleeding Love” which all spent 7 weeks inside the top three. Furthermore, Carey’s “Bye Bye” is also on its seventh week inside the top three.

David Cook’s “Always Be My Baby” stays at #4, while Chris Brown’s “Forever” rises 6-5 and Sandwich’s “Betamax” moves 5-6. Cook and Maroon 5 trade places. “The Time of My Life” moves 8-7 and “If I Never See Your Face Again” dips to #8.

Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up” bolts 42-9, making it one of the biggest jumps to the top ten, only behind Kyla’s “I Don’t Want You to Go” and Madonna’s “4 Minutes.”

Leona Lewis rounds-off the top ten. Lewis’ “Better in Time” is on its fourth week at #10.

“A Very Special Love”, a song by Sarah Geronimo from the movie with the same title, is the top debut at #20. This is the second best debut of the Philippines Hot 100. So far, only two songs debuted inside the top twenty, and there are only three song that debuted inside the top thirty. Here is the list of the three songs.
