Damita Jo is everything, so many great songs.
I love all of her albums (starting with her true debut with Control) for different reasons.
People love to say Janet's output after The Velvet Rope was "all about sex" and "not as good as her first few albums", but that's simply not true. Although it is true that her later albums contain sexual themes and lyrics, the sexuality is just one of the many themes she explores, and Janet has been doing sexual songs as far back as the janet. album. It's incredibly disingenuous for people to act like something changed around the time of All For You and Damita Jo.
The Superbowl incident didn't change the direction of Janet's music, but it didn't change how people perceived her and her music. It's a damn shame because so many people are missing out on fantastic music because of their misguided and ill-informed beliefs.

Janet has covered an array of topics throughout her career. After some time, you really don't have much to say once you've done so much. Janet writes about what's happening in her life at the moment. That's why this next album better be a damn good album because there is SO much that has happened since Discipline. And her approach to sex is cool because she enjoys it, not trying to get a reaction out of people just because.
And all of her albums don't sound the same. Even after A4U, Damita Jo doesn't sound like 20YO and so on. She's definitely not a one trick pony..but now since she's writing again, I'm sure we'll get something really GOOD.
