Starting that graph at 60 IS misleading. Yes, you are allowed to alter the range of the Y axis in order to accurately depict a trend, but there is a fine line at which when you cross it, you've become misleading. If one doesn't look at the axis, one would think Gaga's metacritic score has decreased very steeply, from say, universal acclaim to mixed/unfavorable. In reality, there's only been a drop in about 10 points, all within the same range of Generally Favorable Reviews. The graph visually makes the situation look much worse than it actually is, and thus, it's misleading.

isn't it what statistics is about ? presenting data the way you want it to be seen there is nothing to 'expose' tbh. From mathematical point of view everything is fine yet the author is being called dumb.

a) Shun the fickle craving to become (and remain) the biggest popstar on the planet. Rise above it to leave Cyrus, Perry, and Minaj fighting among themselves (probably in their bikinis, in a paddling pool full of mud, as the drooling patriarchy looks on, fiddling with themselves). Become an actual artist. Go properly, fully weird. Take a leaf out of the unorthodox ex-popstar book of Scott Walker or David Sylvian. Aspire to grace the cover of The Wire, not Vanity Fair. Aim not for ephemeral pop notoriety but artistic immortality. You might have to execute your entourage and those who misguidingly advise you to refrain from further indulging your penchant for inaccessible free jazz but it’ll be much more fulfilling, I assure you.

However, I agree with this. All her work so far is just a little bit restrained, as brilliant as I still think it is.

Not people being right for the wrong reasons.
What would the new score be with all the new reviews added?

I'm just done, though. Critics keep reviewing her life, her career, or her concept rather than the actual music, and those who review the actual music often seem to completely miss the point of everything. Just done. Bye, going to go enjoy the app.

I have to admit, I laughed.
But what do you think matters more to an artist? Critics aren't buying the album, nor are they buying tickets to concerts.

Honestly I think this score is quite good. I'd give the album 45/100

So what happens now, Gaga? Will you end up repeating the earlier hits to depleting crowds, churning out ever duller, largely neglected records, sitting alone in your spooky mansion, filling it with expensive real-life skellingtons while pickling your liver with absinthe? Will you wind up collaborating with Mrs Nickelback? Why not get out while you can, when you still have something resembling a strange form of dignity?

The Avril shade. According to them once you do a song with Avril your career's over.

“Do you wanna see the girl who lives behind the aura?” she asks on the first track. Yes please. Does she show us that? Not really. Her subject matter is the same old sex stuff, fashion stuff, fame stuff while the music remains heavily EDM-centric, less Artpop than Europop.
This is true.

You all are taking it waaaaay to seriously... We are on ATRL... what the hell do you expect... The fact that you all need to attack his "math skills" because he chose to overexaggerate the graph just shows us how defensive and sensitive you all are..
Besides, if you all were to drag him, it would be that the fan graph would have to be much lower then that

Gurl, I am an Economics student, so yeah... basically, I know more Math than your superficial knowledge. The graph is distorted, starting from 60 in the vertical axis. Furthermore, there's a significant (yet unnecessary) space between the numbers in the Y axis, to make it look like a drastic decline. I am not trying to be a genius, since that's basic and easy Mathematics, everyone should notice this. The graph is not wrong, but it was made with the purpose of making it seem drastic.

Sal Cinquemani from Slant magazine scored the album a 70. Now, if someone else from Slant magazine reviewed the album, they would score it differently. We all have different preferences. Metacritic isn't accurate as it's literally a numbers game.
