z100 only does top 9 @ 9, but their neighbor q102 in philadelphia actually has their own countdown, so i agree w/ u that z100 should start doing one. (top 30/40) they only do their top 100 at the end of the year.

I don't think Adam will get the much support from other stations. In fact, I think it will end up pulling a Kris Allen. Z100 plays the hell out of it, while others just say "WTF? :conufsed:" and let it be left alone.

I don't think you can say one is necessarily more important than another, since they cater to two drastically different markets. I think the importance of the stations changes according to what song it is, and the circumstances.
It's a great question though. The music industries for the UK and US are so complex, and to compare the workings of the two is even harder. But it's very interesting. Sorry that my reply isn't very in depth, it's pretty superficial.

* I wish Z100 would have a chart show, however. Like première the BB top 40 on Wednesday evening. That would be awesome.
