It's a boy, the rescue center named him Buster, but he doesn't really answer to that name (cuz he was rescued they obviously don't know his previous name). So we can basically pick a new one for him.
Wait I kind of love that. Except when I was 18 I bought a hamster and named it Edward (Twilight) and my room-mate bought one and called it Bailey (after the alcohol) and they ended up having like 700 babies, it was a nightmare.
My cousin's neighbor has a dog similar to the one you're getting (schnauzer I think? Or maybe a similar breed) but it's such a cute name. But mess @ that story
