Okay I've made a list of songs for an original Christmas songs rate. I know someone threw around the idea of rating some of the albums, but I thought this might be better just so we're not rating the same classics over and over, just for different artists. Let me know if I'm missing anything (or put something down as original when it is actually a cover). I searched by albums so I might have missed some that were just singles.

Part 1 (1994-2004)

Part 2 (2005-2015)

Some staple acts like Barbra or Olivia Newton-John could be added. They both just have a lot of original songs. And Vanessa Williams has another album I left out. And idk if I should trim down some of the artists like NSYNC and Cyndi for Part 1, or Justin, Enya, and Ru for Part 2, that have a bunch of songs.

I figured start the voting for the first one in mid-November when people are starting to get in the mood and do the countdown at the beginning of December. Then the second starts as soon as the first ends (this will give time for the 2015 albums and singles to come out).

We should do of the MTV era. It would be kind of crazy not to include the likes of Last Christmas, Happy Xmas (War is Over) and Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time.

Yeah that is a good idea. What do you think would be a good year to divide the two parts and include those plus everything (or most of what) I've listed?

Maybe just a pre-2000s and a post-2000s rate? Since we'd have to go back to the 70s to include Happy Xmas (War Is Over) and Wonderful Christmastime. I'd probably need to cut my criteria back so there aren't an overwhelming amount of songs for each section.
