I adore Katy, but you can't cover this up. To simply put it, the people you love the most always seem to disappoint you the most. That's why this hurt so bad for a lot of us. Doesn't mean we love her any less

I just rewatched the performance. You can tell in the beginning she's extremely nervous. But as the performance went on, we can clearly see her become more comfortable and her vocals clearly improved. So it wasn't that bad.
