If I wrote a song that was a sequel to a song that was written for a movie, would my song have to relate to the movie, or could it be separate?
For example, if I wrote a sequel to... let's say "Colors of the Wind." Would I need to write a song that would fit in Pocahontas, or would a general song about nature be acceptable (provided that it was clear that it was a sequel to COTW)?
