Spotify payola helps a ton. Cool Girl has 150 million streams just for being included on playlists for months, despite being a major flop that nobody cares about (see charts + the album flopping everywhere). It only has 27 million views on Youtube, so it's clear that the Spotify payola is responsible for those Spotify streams
If Me Too was on Today's Top Hits for months like those songs, it would've had 200 million+ streams easily.

Cumulative streams don't mean ANYTHING if the song can't chart in the Top 20 of the Spotify Top 50.
