Give me a minute. I'm going to write out the premonition.
It's like an alternate version to the bridge scene in Final Destination 5. I wrote it out when I was bored. I'm actually kind of proud of it.

Spoiler time. The most basic-bitch death I came up with so far is Rem's.

A certain person (Someone who dies after him. I was thinking Katie, cuz originally, the two were meant to be brother and sister) and Rem are together about to go on a big trip. Rem's eyes get gouged out by fish hooks after he breaks a shelf (that later catches the wire the hooks are attached to, leaving them dangling), and he runs out of the building, blinded. The other person is in their van, driving to pick Rem up, but dropped something. Like a TOTALLY smart person, the person bends down in the van to pick it up, hitting Rem when he ran, blindly, into the street.

In an ordinary town, there are simply 9 people in three cars. They were all headed back home from this town, to the big city of New York. Choosing to spend more time together, the self-appointed group leader Katie had decided they should all drive, hoping the long-ass trip would bring them together.
Halfway on their trip back home, they ended up having to cross a long-ass bridge.
In car 1, there was Robbie, Katie, Rem and BlackPower. Car 2, there was Hoetenks and Brite Lights, and car 3, there was Husky, Sam, and True Skarlet.
Car 2 was at the head of the group, with car 3 behind it followed by car 1.
Suddenly, one elderly man in a Toyota had a seizure while on the bridge, crashing his car, partially blocking traffic, and causing absolute chaos on the bridge.
The three cars of the group caught flats on glass broken on the bridge among the chaos, and were crushed against the side of the bridge. The front passenger door of car two was ripped off, leaving Hoetenks about to fall right off of the bridge, but holding his seatbelt, which he had never put on, to prevent him from falling. The nine were panicking, frightened. Several other cars were crashing. Eventually, Hoetenk's arms gave out, and he fell down into the river below...
Luckily, he wasn't killed upon impact. While swimming to shore, a motorboat, out of control due to a mechanical malfunction, crashed into Hoetenks, pinning him to the edge of the river, slicing him in half.
Brite Lights fell out of the car soon after, when his seatbelt tore. He fell, hit his head on a part of the support beam for the bridge, and his lifeless body fell down into the river.
BlackPower escaped from his car, with the other three inside unconscious, and attempted to flag down another car on the bridge to help him. No one seemed to notice, until one car crashed into the side of the bridge as well, sending a shard of metal flying at BlackPower, obliterating him as it hit him.
Rem awoke as he started to slip out of the car, and grabbed Katie's hand. The two fell off the bridge, waking up the unconscious Robbie, and slammed down into the motorboat, dying upon impact.
Husky and Sam managed to escape from their car, and Husky told Sam to wait by it.
Eventually, Husky realized that due to the absolute chaos going on in the bridge, there literally was no escape, except to jump off and hope to survive the fall.
The duo jumped, and luckily, survived. Sam, not being able to swim very well, held onto the boat that had let Hoetenks, Katie and Rem die while Husky swam to shore.
Upon reaching the shore, which was a highway that was perpendicular to the bridge, Husky tried to flag down a car similar to how BlackPower attempted to. One car slowed down to pick him up, but both were destroyed by a semi-truck with a drunk driver. The driver of the car Husky flagged down survived, so they would not be saved once the premonition was over.
The car of Hoetenks and Brite Lites fell off the bridge, directly onto the boat, destroying the bodies of Katie and Rem, and also killing Sam.
True Skarlet, the only person majorly damaged by the car crash, eventually died of the wounds he encountered from the crash.
Robbie, the only of the 9 left alive, realized too late that the car he was in was falling. He attempted to get out, but was stuck by his seatbelt, and was killed when the car crashed down into the river below...
*SNAP!*
Robbie awoke as the bridge came into view, meaning it was about a half a mile away from them...

And that's the premonition.

I've never seen a Final Destination movie. Is the premise that x character has a premonition of a group of them dying, prevents it from happening, then they start dying off one by one randomly?

Basically, except they start dying in the order the person who had a premonition saw them die, rather than randomly. It adds interest, sort of knowing when you or the others die.

Well, here's Hoetenk's death. This won't include any actual details such as dialogue, but the version I'll post in the blog post that I'll post shortly will.

Up in his apartment, at night, about three days later, Hoetenks had been smoking like crazy, nearly insane as a result of the disaster that Robbie saved all of them from. Planning to move out of the house, Hoetenks had started packing things up, including a tank of propane in the kitchen from the storage downstairs.
After hours of packing, Hoetenks had fallen asleep, a cigarette still lit, but put on the ashtray next to his bed.
Around 1 AM, Robbie woke up, remembering the premonition in a panic nightmare. He called Rem and Sam, and told them about what he had seen.
Back at Hoetenk's apartment, 10 stories above ground, he rolled over in bed, knocking the cigarette off of the nightstand, starting a fire while he was asleep.
Eventually, Hoetenks woke up, screaming when he saw the fire. He ran to the kitchen to see what was wrong, and wished he hadn't. There, the fire was insane. Slipping on a spill of water, he knocked over a sewing kit along with champagne/wine glasses he had up. With shards of glass and needles stuck all over him, Hoetenks slowly got up, and slowly moved to the front door to get downstairs, not thinking, panicked.
Robbie, Sam and Rem eventually got together and started heading towards the building Hoetenks lived in, h oping to save him before the premonition continued into reality.
Down in the lobby, Hoetenks was walking out of the building slowly. He shoved open the front door, but turned back briefly when the building's security guard asked if something was wrong, idiotically. Hoetenks screamed once more, and then attempted to run out the door. Unfortunately, the door he had shoved open slammed closed in his face as he attempted to get out, shoving all the glass and needles into his body, killing him just as Robbie, Sam and Rem arrived to try and save him.
