It didn’t really struck me that he has really passed away. I mean, I have heard the news since Thursday, but it was about an hour ago that I really sat down and mope over his death. I have always loved his music, “Off the Wall” is possibly one of my favorite albums of all time. Listening to it again just makes me sad.
Russian Michael Jackson impersonator attempts suicide after idol’s death

After media reports that the king of pop, singer Michael Jackson, was dead, his Russian look-alike cut his wrists open, as he was “unable to handle the pain of the loss”.
It took Pavel Talalayev fifteen years to get closer to his ideal: he had several plastic surgeries, bought Jackson’s stage costumes, spent hours rehearsing the dances he copied from Jackson’s shows.
News agencies said the 50-year-old superstar died Thursday, just as he was preparing for a huge comeback. He died at UCLA Medical Center after having a heart attack at his rented home in Los Angeles. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to hospital where doctors continued to work on him.
His most devoted Russian fan was surfing the Internet when news of Jackson’s death appeared online, Life.ru reports.
“I started receiving calls from other fans, I tried to calm them down… And then I let myself go,” said Talalayev, who was rescued by doctors, but was then hospitalized the next day with a heart attack.
Talalayev says he considered Michael Jackson, who he only once met in person, his second half.
“I don’t know why the doctors saved me. I want to be with Michael, and I will kill myself anyway,” he said.
Some of her fans were really obsessed and mentally ill imo. Camping out in a van outside his house for years and holding up candles and crying will staring @ a picture of him. And now after his death some kill themselves.
Very sad and unfortunate. But also amazing, because he had such a strong impact on them.
i cannot stop listening to "you rock my world" I hated that song when it first came out but now I have listened to it all day. I am really sad we cannot hear new stuff from him. Hopefully a few songs can be released that he recorded recently! rip.
I dusted off my "Number Ones" CD and have been jamming to it for two days. When I'm in the car I am constantly looking for a station paying tribute to him. I'm so happy to hear his music now. Not that I wasn't before, but songs that we hear all the time like "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" have so much more depth now. I would never have called myself his biggest fan but now that he's gone my mood is in the pits.
I'm really interested in seeing how the BET awards go tomorrow though.
Really enjoying his music atm. Watching his videos and a lot of Jackson 5 stuff and even some more Janet stuff... idk but she just fits in the whole mood Im in right now.

Cant wait for the Times issue!
I streamed Off The Wall and The Jackson: The Ultimate Collection on Amazon. I'm definitely buying those two albums, Thriller, and Number Ones.
I will
I been watching MJ videos and specials/documentaries all weekend. I'm still watching him on Vh1 Classic. I think gonna have dreams about his songs lol.
Jackson is the king of media; sales soar after his death
In life, Michael Jackson was the king of pop. In death, he also reigns as the king of on-line retailing and radio airplay.
The pop star's passing on Thursday afternoon sparked an immediate run on CDs, videos, mp3 downloads and books that showed no signs of abating Friday afternoon.
Amazon.com was sold out of its supply of Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 CDs and DVDs within minutes of media reports announcing his death and it then saw sales of mp3 downloads begin to spike. By late Friday afternoon, Jackson-related product sales at the company's music store accounted for 19 of the top 25 best-selling CDs; the top seven DVDs; seven of the top 10 mp3 albums; and six of the top 10 mp3 songs — roughly 60% of all music sales.
Even a collection of Jackson Five Christmas songs made the top-25 CD list, which was topped by a 25th anniversary edition of Jackson's Thriller.
"We've taken more orders for Jackson CDs and mp3 products in the last 24 hours than we did in the previous 11 years of the Amazon music store. The response is just unprecedented," says Bill Carr, vice president of music and video. " It's not a surprise, though. He's a legend and the king of pop. But the kind of sales volume we are seeing is simply unbelievable."
Carr said the company is continuing to take orders and is working with Sony (which produces Jackson's catalog) to replenish its supplies, but he couldn't predict how long the rush would last. He noted that Thursday's sales of Jackson product were 700 times higher than Wednesday's.And sales on Friday appear to be doubling the Thursday amount, he said.
"We are very busy trying to figure out how many CDs we will need to meet the customer demand," Carr says. "I would imagine that as people reflect on his life and what he meant to them, that these sales will continue."
He added that the deaths of Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra also triggered sales spikes, "but nothing compared to what we are seeing now."
Barnes and Noble's website and retail stores also reported being sold out of most Jackson products.
Mediabase, which monitors radio airplay, notes that the top five Jackson songs being played this week at stations across the country are: Rock with You, followed in order by Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, I Want You Back, ABC and I'll Be There.
This week's sales totals for iTunes downloads will be released Tuesday, says spokesman Jason Roth, but as of Friday afternoon, Jackson's music accounted for 9 of its top 10 albums (led by an iTunes-created greatest hits collection), six of its top 10 songs (led by Man in the Mirror at No. 2), and nine of its top 10 videos (led by Thriller). No Jackson music registered in the top 10 in any of those categories a week ago.
And social networking sites are also seeing an impact. A spokesman for Facebook and iLike.com reported that on Thursday, within 10 minutes of offering fans the chance to create playlists featuring their favorite Michael Jackson songs and videos, more than 1,200 had responded. As of Friday, more than 7,000 fans had created dedicated Michael Jackson playlists.
