It may surprise a lot that this is my favorite movie of the year but it shouldn't since I used it as an avatar back in July. What can I say, Spiderman is one of my favorite superheroes as a child which I always find weird since I'm terrified of spiders in real life. Like everyone, I was surprised when it was announced that the movie was getting a reboot shortly after Raimi's trilogy was released which is quite unheard of and appeared to be a desperate move from the company. But I'm glad that as news and developments came along and casting was announced, my doubts for this movie slowly lowered and actually enjoyed the film. I liked the casting of this movie since I'm a fan of the lead actors and they proved before that they can deliver. Some may disagree but whatever, I really liked this than the previous trilogy, I liked them but I just think this was better, maybe even as good as the second movie of the previous trilogy. Despite the history of Peter Parker's life told upon many times before, I appreciate how they tried to tell it differently and how they tried to stay true to the comics throughout the movie. I am definitely getting a DVD of this movie. I am a bit worried about the second movie after seeing news that Shailene Woodley is playing Mary Jane. I never liked her acting especially in TSLOTAT so I hope it can still change. There's also rumours that Jamie Foxx will play Electro in the next movie and I don't know how I feel about that. But nonetheless, this movie is amazing and is my #1 movie of the year!
