As of Nov. 14, industry forecasters say it’s too close to call, but Bieber may have the edge in overall equivalent album units -- and for No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Sources suggest Purpose (SchoolBoy/Raymond Braun/Def Jam Records) could shift an overall 475,000 to 500,000 units in the week ending Nov. 19 (with pure album sales comprising perhaps 425,000 to 450,000 of that total). As for Made in the A.M. (SYCO/Columbia Records), it’s tracking to move around 450,000 to 475,000 total units (with about 425,000 to 450,000 in album sales).
Purpose has been getting good word of mouth on social media so I expected a spike, and anything less than 400k seemed low for the massive 1D.
So with SPS, they are probably gonna be over 500k.
Its been really entertaining, for a group as humble as 1D, their stans are so cocky, ironically the way they perceive and villainize Bieber to be...karma swooping in in the nick of time.
No offence, like as much as I love him, he does not deserve it. He fooled us into thinking this album would be amazing with his first three releases. Half of it is garbage. I'm kinda mad.
