The older generations make me sick to the stomach due to their lack of education about multiculturalism.
It's so engrained in that generation
I'll never forget seeing Nan's reaction when meeting her sons (my uncle) new girlfriend who is an islander/Samoan. Nan had sunglasses on and saw them walking towards her and she had this puzzled look her on face 'who's that with him, that can't be his girlfriend.' Then thinking the tint of her glasses was distorting the colour of her skin she proceeded to take her glasses off and on to make sure she was seeing correctly. 'SHES BLACK' she yelled in the middle of a packed shopping centre she's came around quickly and doesn't treat her any different, but still judges other people of colour. Same thing happened when we took her to dreamworld last year. 'God it's like spot the Aussie, Asians everywhere, you'd swear we've moved to China' said out loud in the food court surrounded by Asians
The older generation has absolutely no tack or filter, they just blurt out whatever. Nan still says to me 'so have you got a girlfriend yet?' 'No nan' 'well you better get a wriggle on, you've never had one, people will think you're a queer' ...if she only knew

Nnnn I feel you sis.
I live in a country town where if you were to express yourself by wearing something that isn't as basic as flanno and jeans you're judged. I have gotten to the point where I don't even take the older generation's comments seriously tbqh, the views they have are so hypocritical I get extreme second hand embarrassment.
My family are full on redneck bogans (beer, thongs, sunnies, typical aussie slang, redneck behaviour, you name it) and there is me. A boy with long blonde beach hair with a thing for fashion trends. They try throw shade at me but I just clock them

Same with most of my extended family. Both mum and dad's families come from the country. My immediate family along with a few cousins are the only civilised ones.
I gave up caring what they think long ago. Whenever I visit it's quite the kii. I get the side eye, judgmental stare, the high school laughing as I walk by, all from people who look as if a shower and hygiene is a foreign concept. Anything that's not footy shorts or the poly cotton blend from kmart is deemed gay
We should team up and take on the country towns. There's a reality show in that, we could be the Kim and Khloe of Aus
The **** is wrong with people? I would've dragged her for filth
Right? It's disgusting. People like her demand the 'respect' of younger generations, only to carry on like that in public. Say what ever you wan't in the confines of your own home, but don't go bringing your archaic views and prejudices into public.
I wish this woman is shamed every time she steps foot in public for acting the way she did.
I also caught on the news that she will undergo 'counseling'

You've got no idea how much that 'respect your elders' nonsense irritates me. Respect is a two way street. You're not automatically entitled to it just because you're old. I'm pleasant and respectful to everyone until the mutual respect stops. I don't care how old you are, you don't respect me, I'm sure as hell not going to respect you. Same with their archaic views, like you're entitled to your opinion, but when you start forcing them on me, that's when we have a problem.
She was fined $500. The governments money going right back to the government

THIS 100% !
Yes, we will take on each country town across Australia one by one, bringing them to their knees.
People may or may not agree with a government's policies, but the basics of leadership is to at last exert some sort of authority. Why liberal would want a stuttering idiot to be the face of their party and Australia I will never know

Right? Especially when they have someone like Malcolm Turnbull. He might not be popular within the party because he's not massively to the right, but he's more in touch with the public than Abbott will ever be
