| 05 ONE DIRECTION "One Thing"
Weeks on Chart: 9 Weeks
Peak Position: 02
Debut Date: February 4, 2012
"Get out, get out, get out of my head and fall into my arms instead."
My newest music addiction, British boyband One Direction, appears for the fourth time on the list with the very catchy yet cheesy track, "One Thing". When I first heard this song, I instantly liked it because of its appealing melody and cute lyrics. When it was released, I found it a bit inferior compared to its predecessor. Nevertheless, this track still enjoyed success on my countdown, but it failed to place at #1. Despite being released on the first quarter of 2012, I am still enjoying "One Thing" as of the moment. It's just so irresistible. Plus, the acoustic version of this track is so amazing.
2009: Katy Perry, "Thinking Of You"
2010: Rihanna, "Only Girl (In The World)"
2011: Katy Perry, "The One That Got Away" | | 04 KARMIN "Brokenhearted"
Weeks on Chart: 23 Weeks
Peak Position: 01[6]
Debut Date: March 31, 2012
"Honest baby I'll do anything you want to. So, can we finish what we started? Don't you leave me brokenhearted tonight."
American duo Karmin's breakout hit "Brokenhearted" secures a slot in my Top 5 of 2012. Despite being the most successful song on my countdown in terms of longevity, Karmin fell short in placing within my big three of 2012. I find the song okay at first, but I suddenly got addicted to it after a few spins. "Brokenhearted" was such a hit on my playlist that it became one of my jams for about seven months. I really cannot say that I got tired of this track, cause I am still loving it. It's just that there are three more songs that had greater impact on me last 2012. Nevertheless, "Brokenhearted" is undeniably a 2012 favorite for me.
2009: Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
2010: Katharine McPhee f/ Jason Reeves/Zachary Levi, "Terrified"
2011: Christina Perri, "A Thousand Years" |
