TS Otto has arrived! Looks likely to hit Nicaragua or Costa Rica as a hurricane. Really interesting path, and could even crossover to the EPac.

I hope Otto survives the crossing, that'd be really cool. It's still a bit asymmetric at the moment but it's got a CDO already.

Tropical storms in the EPAC this year:

May 15 - July 1: 0
July 1 - September 30: 18
October 1 - November 30: 2

Such a tightly packed season.

Otto has really blossomed

Otto was reported as a high-end Cat 2 a couple of hours ago, and it's probably major now. Luckily, it's making landfall in a natural reservation on the Nicaragua-Costa Rica border where very few people live. It will survive the crossing into the EPac, but it should weaken pretty quickly.
