I dont think Twilight will have longevity at the box office, since i believe most fans went to see it opening weekend. I predict only around $150 million in the end.
Heres what it made this weekend:
Friday $35 million
Satuday $22 million
Sunday $13 million

There's a huge difference between friday and sundays takings so you are probably right, it won't have longevity at the box office. Still a great opening though

Plus, Sunday normally is the worst day for a movie at the boxoffice over the weekend, but I'm sure that you're right about that. I saw it on Friday and it was sold out for almost every slot it was showing, but my friends and I managed to get into the theater, where it was an estrogen filled room for 2 hours ...

The movie cost 37 million to make and has already made it all back and more
I think you can consider this a success if it makes it to 150 million....

Definitely. I was actually thinking that it would only make $40 - $45 million this weekend, so it definitely took me for surprise. Longetivity is the question though ... look at HSM3.

I'm sorry, but I think Twilight was overrated. I read the book, and I just couldn't get into it for some reason.

I think that the books are alright, but I kind of think that the movie was overrated ... and it beat the debuts of movies like Quantum of Solace, Madagascar 2, the Incredible Hulk, Hancock, and others that have had built in fan bases or huge movie stars in them, but it might not make as much as they did.
