My high school/jr high years were dominated by urban too. IDK it slayed for me. I was at a marching band competition and the winning band danced to crank dat (souljia boy) lmao.
The pop stars we have right now are great in my opinion.
Taylor, Ed, Ariana, Selena, Bieber, Rihanna, Drake, etc... they all release good music. Pop music now is way better than pop music back in like 2012 where we had annoying songs like We Found Love and Part Of Me spammed everywhere.
Anywho, I miss the pop scene from 2008-2011. Urban dominated middle school yet pop/edm dominated high school for me so it was a bit of a twist. WFL was fine but POM type songs however
Rihanna's current stuff is not bad. Work is one of the best bops ever (thanx to Drake and his producers heh but still), Needed Me is also great, & so is This Is What U Came 4.
Drake also releases good pop songs. Too Good, Controlla and One Dance are all great. But let me guess...yall think Glory is the best pop album this year and also one of Britney's best? Mhm.
