My high school years have been HELL with urban music dominating in the mid 10s, so we better ****ing hope that PURE POP makes a comeback (not that tropical, minimalist **** the Selena and Justina are doing either )
The pop stars we have right now are great in my opinion.
Taylor, Ed, Ariana, Selena, Bieber, Rihanna, Drake, etc... they all release good music. Pop music now is way better than pop music back in like 2012 where we had annoying songs like We Found Love and Part Of Me spammed everywhere.
