I lurk the forums all the time but I have been too lazy to login these past few weeks especially since I found Boomerang so disappointing.

The production sounds so uninspired and dated, video is meh, her vocals are just ok, and the verses are too low for her. Why didn't she sing it in a higher key? She's a trained singer, I'm sure she knows the tessitura of her voice?! UGH /endrant

But whatever, I love this bitch so I will have to support this ****** new song.

Nothing against you but I find the word dated a bit overused in general
I personally find that no music these days can be even dated since people sample and re-use the same patterns, beats and stuff for years now

Boomerang isn't her best song by far , but Poison also wasn't all that for me, I hope this will turn out like KL and that the 2nd single will be much better!

I am pretty curious what kind of music will be featured on her album. She described it as a dance anthem album. But Boomerang is pretty much electro pop. I know I am the one who always complained about a cohensive record, but I feel that something "new" will slowly will become big over dance.

I don't think you understood what I meant by "dated". You can reuse beats, melodies, chord progressions, etc all you want but at least make it interesting or bring something new to the table. The song is basically flat from the beginning to the end. The chorus is catchy but everything else is just flat. No big or any interesting moments and the it doesn't seem like they put a lot of work and thought into the melody either. The bridge is weak as well just like the verses. I can go on and on but you get the picture.

So yeah, the song is "not fresh" and very "ordinary". This is bonus track material. Nicole can do better and I'm sure she will have great songs on the album so I don't lose hope.

Boomerang isnt my favorite song of hers either, i really feel that nicole can do much better than this bubble gum pop. It doesnt suit her at all, but i think the management wants an easy hit to put nicole out there again.
