taylors fanbase is strong as ****. pretty much every melanin deficient girl under 16 adores her shes going to open big numbers once again and this era she became a much bigger celebrity too
Sweeter than fiction peaked outside the top 30 and didn't go top 3 (right?) on Itunes meanwhile the soundtrack that was released before RED went top 2 on the billboard charts and was huge.
Her public image has also suffered a lot. Just look at this
Sweeter Than Fiction is an unpromoted soundtrack single from an unknown British independent movie that had a limited release and was never released in the US. Safe and Sound and Eyes Open were from THE HUNGER GAMES soundtrack. They got more coverage and hype. Most people don't even know of the song's existence. As for her public image, yes, it's suffered a lot, since November 2012, but it's not affecting her sales:

If the backlash had any effect on her sales, then why didn't the sales start slowing down? Why was Red able to 3 million more copies in the US since the start of the backlash? Why did IKYWT become a hit? Why did the Red Tour gross 133 million (so far) although it started in March, in the middle of the backlash?

These types of comments are almost as delusional as the posters who think she's only a thing in the Southern US when her greatest touring might is in the Northeast. Taylor's concerts have plenty of older people and plenty of males (most of which are not of the gay variety). Taylor's core fanbase has grown up with her.

so
True, but what about it not going #1 on Itunes though?
I have a good feeling about Katy coming close to the MJ record again this era. If she gets 4 #1s (Legendary Lovers + I feel like TIHWD could be a Tik Tok/CMM type hit) Capitol won't miss the opportunity

ummmmm im not comin for tay tay and shes global (a major force in asia and oceania where "global kween rijana" is lacking) so
I feel like the Taylor "backlash" is kinda fading now. Sure her image isn't as squeaky clean as pre-Harry but it's in a much better state than it was a year ago and she has a good team (at least they know what their doing for the few singles).
