Just as awful as the original.

Can we name a few reasons why 'Just like a pill' became such a classic?
- She performed it on every tour
- It hit #1 on the UK charts
- Because of its iconic sexy video
And it was a pioneer in terms of female pop/rock songs even before Avril and Kelly emerged on the scene. If you would ask the gp today if 'Just like a pill' or 'Complicated' is more iconic what do you think they would say after 10+ years since the existence of both songs?
The impact is real I believe.

Yeah.

...and the controversial number one "Just Like a Pill" all combine honest lyrics with a slightly alternative sound, which would later provide the benchmark for the careers of Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry, to name just two.

I wish more people would realize that P!nk was a pioneer in the pop/rock movement. Or, at least, she brought it back since the Pat Benatar and Tina Turner days.
Without her venturing into pop/rock there would be no Kelly, no Avril, and yes, there would be NO Stripped from Xtina. This is fact.

There would be no Kesha or Katy Perry. Ex would not have had half of her discography.
Not to mention that Linda later worked with Courtney Love, Britney Spears, Sugababes, Gwen Stefani, Joan Jett, James Blunt, Lisa Marie Presley, Kelly Ousburne, Dixie Chicks, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Daniel Powter, Adam Lambert and so many others....

JLAP is one of her most iconic songs. I mean it's a masterpiece and even my brother who is straight and mostly into Rock and Rap STANS HARD for that song!
It did lead the way for Avril and Kelly and Katy and others who now use the pop/rock sound.
And M!ssundaztood in general is probably P!nk's most ICONIC album
I mean GTPS, FP, JLAP already >>>>>>>>>>
Even DLMGM

RS hates her cuz she shaded them many times in the past. Not surprised. Although, JGMAR was the only song they praised in that album review.
RS is a mess these days. Look at their review of Britney Jean.

It really is a classic. I've heard people do it on karaoke and watched drag queens perform it, and every time the crowd always sings along. It was also the loudest sung song at the show I went to in Dallas.

http://www.about-face.org/pink-is-a-...ized-pop-star/
Quote:
Recently, I was fortunate enough to attend a concert on Pink’s “The Truth About Love” world tour.
Pink is undoubtedly a sexual performer.
For a few years now, listening to Pink has been my “guilty pleasure.” I never really wanted to admit that I loved her, because my musical tastes are not usually so mainstream.
But, I’ve come to really enjoy her music, and respect her for breaking the pop-star cookie-cutter mold. Her songs make powerful statements about hot-button issues like politics and celebrity culture.
Pink is well-known for the unbelievable aerial acrobatics she performs during her concerts. So when I found out she was doing a show in my town, I knew I had to go.
Yes, the concert was amazing, but during it I also found myself thinking about the sexualization of pop performers. I couldn’t help but compare the performance to Miley Cyrus.
I don’t know about you, but I reached Cyrus twerk overload about a hundred articles ago. I really don’t want to devote more pixels to dissecting that particular situation.
But something was bugging me about how these two performers seem to have similarities, yet Pink’s brand of pop garners so much more respect.
Like Cyrus, Pink also wears a variety of scanty costumes and sings about sexual themes. She also dances, flies on a high wire out above the audience, gyrates, and somehow manages to stay singing in tune throughout it all.
So how is Pink’s sexualization different from Cyrus’s?
Well, I think there is a fine, but definite, line. Pink is clearly in control of her sexuality: physically strong, confident, talented, and daring.
In Cyrus’s brand of sexualization, she appears less in control.
Pink’s costuming is more akin to a gymnast’s necessity for form-fitting clothing. In contrast, Cyrus’s costume, especially in contrast with the three-piece suit of co-performer Robin Thicke, seems to have a more submissively sexual purpose.
It’s a subtle distinction, but an important one.
About Miley Cyrus, Gloria Steinem said: “I think that we need to change the culture, not blame the people that are playing the only game that exists.”
Yet somehow, Pink manages not only to play the game, but also to control it on her own terms.
What do you think about the sexuality of these two performers?

Hm, interesting...Thoughts?

P!nk is sexual, but she does not do the kind of sexual that makes her look submissive.
She is more like a "I am a strong woman, who can be as sexual as anyone, and who can talk about sex just like guys can" type
