YES. That article had some amazing points. I love the "perfect princess that is also a total mess quote" because I think it describes Taylor perfectly. Also the mentioning of the fact that she has to use passive aggressive forms of anger in order to release her pain is perfect. I think that is why she has songs like Better Than Revenge. I have long thought about the fact that Taylor is trapped between wanting to be a good role model and wanting to be herself. The problem Taylor has is that society 's idea of a perfect young women that is a good role model is flawed in itself and incredibly sexist. Taylor, while striving to be that "America's sweetheart" persona starts to reflect those sexist and flawed qualities especially since many of them conflict with what she truly believes in and is like which then creates this hypocrisy that everyone accuses her of. The problem is that if Taylor was a true feminist role model then she wouldn't be seen as a role model to the mass American audience and the same with now she isn't considered to be a feminist role model because she conforms to the American ideal. So she's kind of stuck in the middle which has to be a stressful position. Sorry for the rant. Did that make sense?
