I actually like those lines. They are simple, yes, but the moment I heard them, they really made me sort of happy. They're uplifting, you know. Anyway, this song is for a romantic comedy. It's not really deep and is definitely better than Wrecking Ball.
|
I don t see how it could be good, even with a HQ version ! so lame imo
there s happiness and there s basicness people ain t here for light songs such as Ours, Starlight ( I love both) anymore
I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was break me
great lyrics imo and the tune is very mature ! not surprised that it topped Roar easily on itunes and I m not even a fan of Miley

Exactly. The lyrics are what I expected. They have to be pretty accessible to be the theme song for a romantic comedy. This isn't a Hunger Games track.
I'm just glad there's no "holier than scripture" here

"Wrecking Ball" was written by Lukasz Gottwald, Maureen Anne McDonald, Stephan Moccio, Sacha Skarbek and Henry Russell Walter. The song was produced by Dr. Luke and Henry Russell Walter under his production name.
mm yeah, she's so much better, let's hear the applause.

The second verse and the bridge of Wrecking Ball are weakly-written, especially the second verse, and the way she signs them is not something I enjoy. She can't do desperate well. The tone she uses while singing the bridge is so overtly whiny. It's not done like that Miley sis. You can take notes about the desperate/sad tone from Taylor. Overall, the song is OK tho, but I don't listen to it a lot.

Oh. Missed that.
But obviously she stans Taylor. Every sane person does.
Ashrock- you want Taylor to be a singer of songs other people serve her? 5 freaking songwriters for WB and its still miles worse than HG, SBT and BA all on which Taylor did alone.

I don't know if you guys read Reddit but this is something you guys might want to see:
Did you ever grow up with someone that is now famous? if so what were they like growing up?
There was this comment:
Quote:
I went to high school with Taylor Swift, had no idea who she was until she performed in the talent show and I made the remark that she was awful, my friend gasped and said "that's Taylor Swift! She's got a recording contract! She'll be famous one day!" To this day I still have no idea how she became famous because she is absolutely terrible live.
|
People responded:
Quote:
She wrote a song about you, dude! I don't know the song name, but i believe the lyrics go:
"Someday, I'll be, living in a big 'ol city, and all you're, ever gonna be is mean"

There was this comment too but not highly voted:
Quote:
Taylor Swift grew up in my neighborhood in Wyomissing, PA. My mom claims she has a video of her singing at my grandma's gardening club meeting, though I've never seen it. I remember her being pretty quiet. Then she and her family moved south when she was a teenager and I hadn't heard anything until she started producing popular music.

Taylor sis what are you thinking about ? people aint here for those light & cheap lines, the only decent one is "the rest is history"
She should carry on with songs like IKYWT, The Last Time...more mature and deeper !

You must've only heard the bridge.
Poor that.

Some ppl will never learn, I guess. Wait until HQ and then you can judge, ogres.
And the stories about Her from reddit have been ranging from a quiet person, to weirdo. Nice to know that She's not faking it for the show.

Amazing performance. And to go full live acoustic alone, with all of her peers and millions of people watching, with nothing to bail her out when she messes up. Fearless. I can't even remember anybody else doing it besides her.

I actually like that performance.
For me, WANEGBT at the Grammy's is the worst. Between the scary clowns, the unnecessary Harry shade and her pitchy vocals The worst thing was that I stayed up all night in the UK to watch a live stream and...I was embarrassed at my stanning for ha when she performed like that.
Grammy performance with Stevie Nicks is not so bad for me, because I didn't see it until a couple of years after and had heard how terrible it was. It wasn't so bad considering that.

Well, Her "Mean" performance at the 2012 Grammys was one of Her best . I also liked where She was at that point in Her career. No controversy; all about the music.
And let's not forget about the 1-2 punch from those Hunger Games' tracks. I still weep at the missed opportunity to perform S&S with The Civil Wars duo at the Grammys.

There was a girl who commented on a similar thread a couple of months back. Someone asked her if she was Abigail and she responded in disgust. Something along the lines of "oh god no". I'll try finding it.
