Wait after his chance to promote a new song gracefully and all of a sudden he can

***** please, no one is over Play It Again. In fact, they should send it to pop. It's a perfect all-format iconic smash. It deserves to be his career-defining hit.

I'm just coming from the perspective that its peaked on Country Radio and its bound to start free-falling soon. Country Radio should get a new single in the next 3 weeks, Play It Again will probably be on the brink of falling out of the top 5 on country radio at that point.
As for crossing over, I think Capitol should have already started to push Play It Again harder on Hot AC. Some stations were already adding the song without an add date so it could do well on that format. The timing is all off now.
Maybe if Capitol released a week ago a pop mix to Play It Again after the BBMA promo, that would have been the perfect time to start the crossover launch of PIA.
I'm saying all of this with the perspective that all of the summer songs have been picked up by radio and the CMT awards was the last real big promo spot for Luke for a few months. Plus it only will get harder in pushing PIA with the 4th Quarter releases upon us and the fact it sold 1.2 million singles already. Luke will get lost in the mix I'm afraid.
UNLESS he somehow performs PIA at the VMA's somehow
