This bitch was one of the first Hoenn pokémon to appear in the series, debuting at the end of the Johto anime arc. Between that, her Mystery Dungeon appearances, her overworld gimmick and her ability gimmick, it seems like they really tried to make her happen. I'm not mad at that, I think she's cute. Abusing her Colour Change to hit her super effectively was really fun. Her whole niche was like the beta test for Protean.
She was a mess blocking your way all the time though, I remember 7-year old me fuming at not being able to chase the bitch into the trees at Fortree City. How dare she flee?
Citrus thinks "she's a cute gimmick" but
Phresh is adamant that she is an "ugly generic gimmick, boring and basic, this sounds like a recipe for something that jpow would stan for". Part of that was true.
