The finale was decent, I guess. Definitely not anything special... I will say that cemetery scene was great. Also, I had previously wrote in this thread how much I loved Jessica with Hoyt, and before I know it, they're back together, so I'm happy about that.
I don't get the point of killing Bill. I know a part of it was for the shock factor, but IMO his desire to die almost came from nowhere.
I feel as though the writers started to create a script based off of the wishes of the viewers - a certain character dying, a certain character living - but I hate when shows gives the viewer's opinions too much power. It takes away from the true direction of the show.
Reading comments online, I was glad almost every viewer felt the same about Tara's death. It was a true disservice to the character who relentlessly endured the most, and the actress. It was hard seeing everyone around the dinner table, smiling and being happy, just because I feel Tara should've been there as well. If anybody deserved some happiness it was her. Then once I saw Lafayette at the table, I realized they pretty much excluded the GREATEST CHARACTER from the finale.
In usual True Blood fashion, some things in the show were definitely rushed.
I.e. Violet's thirst for revenge and her quick death - seriously, what was the point?
Bridgette was just thrown in so that Jason could have a conclusive storyline and happy ending.
As much of a fan as I am of this show, I will say retrospectively, this season was kind of empty and pointless.
