03 · P!NK f/ NATE RUESS, "Just Give Me A Reason" Debut Date: February 9, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 20 Weeks Peak Position: #01[5]
♫"Just give me a reason. Just a little bit's enough. Just a second we're not broken just bent, and we can learn to love again."♫
If there's going to be one song that would summarize and highlight the music 2013, this song's gotta be the easiest pick. C'mon, who didn't fall in love with this awesome collaboration between P!nk and Nate Ruess? Upon hearing this song for the first, I instantly got hooked into it. P!nk and Nate definitely showcased their amazing vocal prowess coupled with heartfelt and convincing delivery. The heartbreaking lyrics were interpreted with overflowing emotions. Such an exceptional track! I actually can't decide if this one's going to be my favorite P!nk song or "Just Like A Pill". All I know is P!nk never fails to deliver outstanding tracks that start with the word "Just".

02 · ONE DIRECTION, "Kiss You" Debut Date: January 12, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 20 Weeks Peak Position: #01[3]
♫"So tell me girl if everytime we touch, you get this kind of rush. Baby say yeah, yeah, yeah. If you don't wanna take it slow, and you just wanna take me home. Baby say yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, and let me kiss you."♫
I must admit that when Take Me Home was released, this song never stood out for me. It was just okay. Yes, it somehow sounds the same as their previous efforts but it's undeniably pleasing as it contains the power pop elements One Direction never fails to accomplish and deliver. However, things turned different when it was picked as a single and a very funny and clever music video was released. I became a big big fan of it tremendously. Yes, it might not be their best effort but it's definitely one of the standouts. I still bop to it now!
FLASHBACK 2012: ONE DIRECTION, "Live While We're Young" 2011: JENNIFER LOPEZ f/ PITBULL, "On The Floor" 2010: SARA BAREILLES, "King Of Anything" 2009: TAYLOR SWIFT, "Love Story"
01 · ONE DIRECTION, "Best Song Ever" Debut Date: July 27, 2013 Weeks on Chart: 23 Weeks Peak Position: #01[5]
♫"And we danced all night to the best song ever. We knew every line, now I can't remember how it goes but I know that I won't forget her. Cause we danced all night to the best song ever."♫
And the BEST SONG EVER for 2013 is One Direction's "Best Song Ever"! Well, majority are already expecting this song would top my list cause I just made it extra obvious. However, this doesn't happen all the time. For 2009, 2011 and 2012, everyone's #1 guess landed as runners-up instead. Like "Kiss You", I wasn't really much hooked into "Best Song Ever" when it was released. I was kinda expecting of something power pop but they decided to shift on a different direction. Nevertheless, the music video truly helped me in getting obsessed with the song. Definitely their best video ever! This song was truly influential to me as I adapted this expression of saying "best (insert word here) ever" all the time. Props to these guys for maintaining the Top 2 spots for the second consecutive year. Will they go for three-peat next year?
